Fitness Attendant
The UCF Wellness Research Center (WRC) and Employee Gym serves as a wellness center for UCF employees, as well as a facility where training studies take place as part of research projects within the UCF Institute of Exercise Physiology & Rehabilitation Science.
Fitness Attendants are primarily responsible for providing a clean, safe and helpful workout environment for members of the WRC & Employee Gym, as well as provide assistance to those working out. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Open and Close the WRC and Employee Gym as needed in accordance with assigned schedule and operating hours.
- Supervise the gym floor and man the reception desk.
- Interact with UCF faculty and Staff using the WRC facility.
- Be available to set up any user on any piece of equipment or weight machine and properly provide spots to users.
- Enroll new members in the facility.
- Clean and maintain exercise equipment and the WRC facility.
- Administer fitness assessments as needed.
- Administer performance assessments in conjunction with ongoing research studies in the Exercise Physiology Intervention & Collaboration (EPIC) Lab facility as needed.
- Participate in wellness workshops for UCF faculty & staff as needed.
- Report any incident of injury, theft, or broken equipment to senior staff or the Director.
- Communicates effectively with the director, senior fitness staff and peers.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled UCF student
- Current Adult CPR/AED certification.
CPR/AED certification is not required at the time of application, however all required CPR/AED training must be completed by 1/8/2025. Those with an existing CPR/AED certification that expires while employed at the WRC & Employee Gym will be responsible for renewing their certification to avoid a lapse. Applicants should state the current status of CPR/AED certification in their resume at the time of application.
