2 Goalkeeper Coach 

POSITION DUTIES: Lead goalkeeper (GK) training for the 2nd Team, including creating sessions each day based on the GK periodization and when possible, team periodization; defining objectives for each session to assist development of GK’s; maintaining a positive and competitive learning environment; managing and coaching GK’s during transition from GK training to team training. Lead video analysis of both training and games for 2nd team GK’s to help identify strengths and areas for development. Work closely with 2nd team staff to help develop team training programs and game plans. Meet daily with 2nd team staff to plan and review training sessions as well as discuss tactical ideas. Lead set piece training for 2nd team, including attacking and defending set pieces during team training; analysis of opposition set pieces; Reviewing team set pieces and providing video analysis to players; Managing set pieces with substitutions on gamedays to ensure all players understand their role. Provide opposition analysis and deliver video report to 2nd team GK’s including key individuals; team attacking tendencies; team pressing tendencies; opposition set pieces. Oversee the U17/U19 GK periodization for Academy goalkeepers and assist Academy goalkeeper coach with design and review of training sessions. Lead Individual Development Plan (IDP) programming for top academy professional prospects. Assist Academy goalkeeper coach carrying out IDP meetings to review performance and provide feedback to top academy prospects. Evaluate Academy goalkeeper performances and establish a development pathway for top academy goalkeepers into the 2nd team. Assist medical and performance staff with rehabilitation sessions for injured 2nd team GK’s.

REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years of experience playing as a Goalkeeper for professional or college soccer teams. Must also have at least (6) six months’ experience as an assistant coach and/or goalkeeper coach. 50% domestic travel required.
