What I liked

I thoroughly enjoyed this program and found it to be an enriching experience. Going into it I did not know a whole lot about the security integration industry, but after spending a month learning from other colleagues and company partners in Illinois I feel very confident in my potential to contribute positively in my upcoming role as a sales representative. Not only was I given the opportunity to learn, but also to network with other new and longtime colleagues. The company culture is great, and everyone wants to help you along your journey.

Convergint Development Program

What I liked

The CDP was well organized and extremely educational. There were numerous opportunities to network throughout the company, and everyone was knowledgeable and great to work with! I would highly recommend this program.

Advice

Go in ready to learn and take in lots of information. Be outgoing and friendly as you’ll be meeting new people in the same situation!

What I liked

The people in this company really live by the Values and Beliefs (V’s and B’s). Everyone is dedicated to their roles but everyone is also dedicated to helping others learn. Convergint flew 38 of us (recent college grads) to Chicago for a month of training and fun. I learned so much and am excited to start my career with Convergint. This culture is not something I expected to find myself apart of immediately college. Couldn’t be more thankful!

What I wish was different

Nothing major I would change about my experience in the program. I would love to see more recent college graduates and younger people in general in this industry.

Advice

Connect with people who are working wherever you’re applying. You are welcome to connect with me on LinkedIn (Tristan Mariani). Once you start with Convergint or anywhere else ask all the questions. Seriously, many people are excited about the potential of our generation and they want to be apart of investing in you. Be bold, be bright.

The Convergint Development Program is great for recent graduates! You learn so much from leaders of the company, hands-on experience, and networking opportunities. I have grown so much from just one month of bootcamp. You learn so much about the industry and the different pillars of Convergint.

Get outside of your comfort zone and NETWORK! This program allows you to meet different colleagues from all around the country. Do your research before interviewing with Convergint and look over our Values & Beliefs.

What I liked

Convergint puts together an amazing program called "Convergint Development Program." I was very new to this industry and did not know much about selling security. Over the course of four weeks, I learned more than I thought possible about the company, culture, vendors, technology, and selling. Katie Nagel (CDP Program Manager) does a phenomenal job of organizing the program. The culture of this company is top tier and continues to drive my urge to be better and learn more every day. After the four-week program in Schaumburg, IL, you are sent to your base office or "CTC," where you are welcomed with open arms and treated like family. I can ask anyone in my office for help on anything and no one will hesitate even for a second. This company is special and I cannot wait to see where it takes me!

Convergint Development Program- Sales

What I liked

This program is laid out in a very unique way. The first 6 weeks are very intensive, but I believe that's how it should be. In the first 6 weeks, we gained a lot of knowledge surrounding the bigger picture when it comes to access control, surveillance, and the general way that security is laid out. The culture is extremely positive at Convergint, and I think anybody with a bright mind, competitive nature, and optimistic attitude should be invited to apply. Convergint is a growing company with many, many opportunities for young professionals.

What I wish was different

I believe that the intro to the development program, with the CDP Bootcamp, could include some more hands-on experience rather than lectures, but I still learned more in the first 6 weeks than I've ever learned anywhere else.

Advice

While it is rigorous, I think that this program sets you up for success more than anything else in the integration industry. If you put your all into Convergint, you will get just that and more out of it!
