What I liked

Opportunities for education and meaningful projects were abundant. Great management team, and a strong formal mentorship system. Felt like taking on the responsibility of a full time analyst for the summer.

What I wish was different

Building relationships with other interns was difficult, but this was mostly due to the remote environment.

Advice

Take advantage of formal and informal learning opportunities. Employees of all levels are willing to sit down for a coffee chat if you are proactive about reaching out.

I really liked how everyone was so supportive and engaged with interns.

It would have been a more engaging experience if it was remote, but currently with the pandemic, a remote internship was the next best experience.

Talk to people! Reach out! People are happy to have conversations around just about anything.

They were very accommodating when switching to a virtual format for the summer, although I wished it had been in person.

What I liked

I liked the fast paced and competitive environment at PIMCO, it inspires you to produce your best work. I also liked how many at-bats my manager gave me, and I liked that I got access to a network of amazing professionals who were very willing to meet for coffee chats. The training was

The workload was pretty heavy and the expectations were set high. There's not a whole lot of "team-building" type activity so especially in a remote setting that can feel a little isolating.
